The Hotel Pikassaria is a delightful escape nestled in the picturesque countryside of Sare. The warm and inviting decor of the hotel instantly made me feel at home. The comfortable seating areas in the general areas were perfect for lounging and enjoying the company of fellow travelers. As a senior woman, I truly appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The well-maintained pathways and ramps made it easy for me to navigate around the premises without any trouble.
The only thing I would ask for to make the vacation even better for senior people is a bit more assistance from the children working there. While they were polite, it would have been helpful if they offered to help carry luggage or provide information about the local area without needing to be prompted.

We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful mountain view from our big balcony at the hotel. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the serene surroundings and even stargaze at night. The room itself was spacious and clean, and the separate bathroom and toilet were convenient. Despite the lack of a restaurant close by, the meals at the hotel were delicious, albeit a bit expensive. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even going the extra mile to prepare a last-minute picnic lunch for us. we had a lovely stay at Pikassaria and would recommend it to others.

The rooms at Hotel Pikassaria are fantastic! They give you a real taste of the beautiful Basque region. Waking up to different scenery every morning is a joy for this old soul.
Personally, I found the TV in the room a bit unnecessary. But hey, to each their own, right?

I had a stunning experience staying at Pikassaria in the beautiful mountains. Despite arriving late at night due to a broken motorcycle, the receptionist waited for us and ensured we had a comfortable stay. the motorcycle was safely parked in a garage overnight. the breakfast was delicious, and the hotel offered a nice selection of meals. the staff were friendly, helpful, and patient with our limited French. the clean and comfortable rooms provided a great place to rest after a long day of hiking. I especially loved the spacious balcony, where I could enjoy the breathtaking night sky filled with stars. Pikassaria is a perfect stop for those walking the GR10 trail.
All was good 😊
